Nissan Brings EV Van Concept to Detroit

What do you get when you put together the Nissan NV200 commercial van and the all-electric drivetrain of the LEAF? Well, you get the Nissan e-NV200 Concept, which impressed critics and other show-goers at the 2012 North American International Auto Show in Detroit earlier this month.
The NV200 is slated to become the next official taxi-cab of New York City, but the all-electric version offers a gas-free driving experience combined with the futuristic styling we've come to expect from all-electric vehicles.
Mostly targeted to businesses, the heart of the e-NV200 is much like that of the LEAF. The major differences, of course, are the payload and cargo space of the van. A pair of glass roof panels, a large screen on the center dash, climate control, navigation, and touch screen control of the radio are just a few of the features packed into the electric van. It's considerably taller than most vehicles, but it's just five inches longer than the LEAF hatchback.
How far can it go? The EPA's estimate for the battery's range is about 73 miles.
Testing has already begun overseas, so Thoroughbred Nissan has no doubt that we'll see this concept hit production lines for the United States soon enough. In the meantime, we invite you to swing by our showroom during our regular business hours to learn more about the NV200 or the LEAF - or any of the new Nissan models now available for a test drive. We're conveniently located at 5163 E 22nd St Tucson AZ 85711, and a member of our team is always happy to answer any of your questions about EV technology or other emerging developments from Nissan.
