Next-Gen Nissan Pathfinder Set to Debut in Detroit

The 2012 North American International Auto Show is rapidly approaching, and Thoroughbred Nissan is pretty excited to see what Nissan is ready to debut this year. The all-new Nissan Pathfinder is set to hit showrooms late in 2012, but we'll get it's official unveiling is January 9th in Detroit.
All we've seen of the next-gen SUV is a dark teaser image of its profile. From what we can gather from the image, the body of the Pathfinder is aerodynamically sculpted and features what looks like a panoramic glass roof. And, a recent video released by the automaker alludes to that type of styling - features only a sky in motion, from morning to night, as if looking up through the roof of the vehicle. That's really all we can confirm - but that doesn't mean that critics and enthusiasts aren't speculating.
What we know for sure, however, is that the new Pathfinder is based on an entirely new platform. Much like its predecessors, it features four-wheel drive and seating for seven as well as ample cargo room. The difference this time around will be that the automaker won't be building it in the traditional body-on-frame style, it's more likely to resemble it's stylish cousin, the Infiniti JX.
Thankfully, we won't have to go on speculating for much longer. With that in mind, be sure to check back here later in January for the full details on the completely redesigned Pathfinder from Nissan.
